Marijuana has not been legalized in the state of Wisconsin with the exception of hemp. However, residents have shown support for state-wide legalization, and there have been several bills introduced over the years to legalize marijuana in some capacity.
LCO Engagement in Advancing Cannabis
The Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe (LCO) has done due diligence to analyze the cannabis industry and have drafted ordinances to regulate cannabis and mitigate potential risks. LCO has also taken several steps to meet with state representatives and with other Tribes in regard to cannabis.
